Oh yes. It was good. I could barely put it down. I only had to put it down because I either had to work or sleep. I found this randomly on Amazon when I was just scouring through for some form of YA-Fiction. What spurred this need to get this book was that I noticed that other YA-Fiction fans recommended it. I asked for this book for Christmas from my lovely partner which he definitely enabled.
This is about one world split into three. One for death, one for life, and one trapped in the middle. The one trapped in the middle however, is dying and the one for life has to sacrifice one human woman to revitalise that middle world. This has been going on for three thousand years.
The main female character is the latest human queen to be taken into the middle world to revitalise it. Though she didn’t know it first. Her awareness of it hidden from her by a naughty human man who thought he loved her. This fact is revealed by the arrival of the Elf King himself. He came to get her.
From that point on it is a hate turn to love story.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the development between the two characters. I also loved her interactions with other characters. And the interactions the other characters had with each other. I am also, so unbelievably glad, that when the horrible things inevitably happened to her, she was able to 1. defend herself 2. the Elf King defended her too. She wasn’t instantly disbelieved, followed by chapters upon chapters of trying to convince each other that they weren’t lying.
There was magic. There was adventure. It made me think of Beauty and the Beast. It was marvellous. And what made me love it even more was… She ends up with a pet wolf!!!! A pet wolf! oh yes, she was a girl after my own heart. The only thing that didn’t make her the perfect me was that she was a healer rather than a librarian. But hey I can live with that.
I really enjoyed this, the male character stumbled but he genuinely tried. When he was heartbroken he was honestly gutted. And he was all powerful. It was deliciously good.
I remember hearing that there would be explicit content in this book. I was halfway through the book and I was slowly going to give up hope that there actually was a hot and heavy scene. Until, oh me oh my they finally had that moment! And it was a sexathon weekend they had. Oh yes! FINALLY!
I don’t know what else I could say. I loved it. I really enjoyed it. I would have disagree with one comment I read that said that the end felt rushed. I don’t think it did. I think it was just a nice simple happy ending that tied everything off in a neat little bow.
What is next?
I have decided to keep up the Elise Kova reading.
I don’t really know about the story of this but look at that cover! And the art work on the new chapter pages are gorgeous! I am really excited for this read. Though I will warn you all now, it is going to take me a long time to get through it because this is a complete series and it is MASSIVE! Wish me luck!
Thank you so much for reading! Write again soon! Bye!
