Part 50
The shadow bowed
Her shadow faded into the darkness
Slipped from the room as if her shadow had never been there
She didn’t dare risk the baby
She placed him neatly
Onto the cushioned seat opposite to where she had been
She hobbled toward the door
Her body did not quite feel her own
Like she would fall out of herself
When she opened the door
The new King caught her before she collapsed
