Story 25 – Games in Politics.

Galahad? That was her assassin’s name? He was named after one of the knights from the story King Arthur. Halina dared a glance to the side. But he didn’t so much as flinch. Instead, he tugged the rope around her wrists and pulled her closer towards the throne. Closer towards Rameses. She clenched her fingers and her wrists and tugged back. This gave him slight pause. Galahad glanced over his shoulder at her.

“Oh, Halina, sweetheart don’t get too comfortable, you’re going to help me ruin your brother”. Rameses declared with a wry smile. She supposed it was meant to scare her.

“The ruin of my brother would be for the greater good of everyone, but not for or with you”. She replied. Her voice was weak, she had hoped to try and add a little oomph behind her words, but she only sounded tired. She had wanted to at least wipe the smile from his face.

“We will see after this week”. He replied the smile still playfully on his lips. Galahad gave Rameses a strange glance before meeting her eyes and gesturing for her to follow. He still made it look like he gave her ropes a harsh tug.
